Accessibility & Accommodation Policy

Providing equitable access to competitive Geometry Dash players of all abilities.

Mission Statement
The Geometry Dash Accessibility Disability List is dedicated to promoting competitive achievement and skill for all players, regardless of physical limitations or disabilities.

In that spirit, this list does not adhere to the traditional standards of demon lists, which often function as arbitrary gatekeepers that unfairly exclude players with physical, neurological, or mental disabilities from competitive participation.

Instead, this list strives to embody modern accessibility principles by recognizing that a player's competitive achievement and skill should be judged based on consistency, dedication, and overall merit rather than unaccommodated physical limitations.
Section 4.2: Assistive Technology & Accessibility Accommodations
This List and its Accessibility Policy apply to all players who identify as having physical, neurological, or mental impairments that affect their ability to play Geometry Dash. Examples include, but are not limited to:
  • Repetitive strain injuries (RSI)
  • Carpal tunnel syndrome
  • Dyspraxia
  • Visual processing disorders
  • Other comparable conditions that impact gameplay
Approved Accommodations
The following accommodations may be recognized and approved by the List:

Input Remapping, Adaptive Hardware & Hitbox Adjustments
  • Alternative input devices and control methods
  • Custom hardware configurations
  • Input remapping
  • Approved hitbox multipliers or enlarged input hitboxes for players with documented motor-control, coordination, or dexterity impairments
Accessibility Visual Modifications
  • Color adjustments
  • High-contrast settings
  • Detail reductions
  • Other visual accessibility modifications that do not fundamentally alter gameplay
Calibrated Speed Adjustments
  • Approved game speed reductions for players whose disabilities significantly impact motor control or reaction time
Submission Requirements
To apply for accommodations or submit a record under this policy, players should provide:
  1. A video completion of the section, level, or song in which the accommodation will be used.
  2. A handcam or recording that clearly shows all relevant inputs throughout the attempt.
Documentation of a player's disability, impairment, or accommodation may be submitted in place of a gameplay demonstration when appropriate, as described in Paragraph 8, or through a separate recording that clearly demonstrates the player's functional limitations and input methods.

All accommodation requests and submissions are reviewed on a case-by-case basis. It is the responsibility of the List administrators to evaluate the evidence provided and determine whether a requested accommodation falls within the accessibility standards established by this List.
